Home Fellowships
Home Fellowship Groups are small groups (cell groups) of people meeting in homes and having a great time learning and growing in Christ together. It is people serving and caring for one another and people finding friendship and support. It is peoples’ lives becoming intertwined……it is living life together. Home Fellowship Groups meet the first (1st) and third (3rd) Sunday each month.
- THE VISION: To win souls and make disciples
- THE GOAL: Every believer a leader!
WHY HOME FELLOWSHP GROUPS?
Jesus' vision for the world is to "win souls and make disciples." This He clearly stated in Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." To achieve His vision, Jesus worked closely with twelve men that He mentored to take His place on the earth. Following Jesus' pattern, the apostle Paul also trained a number of young "Timothy's" who later became the great leaders of the New Testament church. It is the heart of the Father for us to have both. That is what Home Fellowship Groups are all about.
Win Them - New Believers are added to the church through personal evangelism and weekend celebration services.
Consolidate Them - Both new believers and new church members are "plugged in" to the church through the consolidation process. Members of the consolidation team are assigned to new believers/members to help enroll them in a bi-weekly Home Fellowship meeting.
Disciple Them - After completing the consolidation process, the Team Leaders encourage them to enroll in Kingdom Life classes where everyone who will potentially be in leadership will go through the foundations of Christianity, Discipleship & Leadership.
Send Them - As the disciple progresses through Kingdom Life, he opens his own Home Fellowship group, developing his/her twelve and eventually sending them to "make disciples."
As a church grows larger, there can be differing perceptions of what is happening. For some it can be a sign that God's hand is on it, just like in the book of Acts. He is adding to the church. For others, it can appear to be a place where it becomes increasingly difficult to connect with people on a personal level. Actually, both perceptions are accurate. The life of God causes things to grow, so a dynamic, vibrant, growing church should be no surprise...but He would never expect His people to become disconnected from each other. The book of Acts describes a church that was personal, connected, and embraced community fellowship, but also was continually growing at a staggering pace! It is the heart of the Father for us to have both. That is what Home Fellowship groups are all about. |
